If it wasn’t obvious: these pictures were not taken today, even though we have spent quite some time at the beach lately. Spring has arrived in Spain and the weather is getting warmer every day, but it will still take some time before the beaches are as crowded as Kumbh Mela. Barceloneta is Barcelona's most popular beach and the first one you reach from the city centre, but the landscape continues north with many more.
When I arrived in September, people were still enjoying the beaches as if it was summer, and the water temperature was actually not bad. We even had some days in October where we woke up to more than 20 degrees and realized we had to get ourselves down to the beach for a swim.
Now it’s March and I have already seen some crazy tourists going for a dip in the ocean. The weather can be around 15 to 20 degrees at this time of year, but the water temperature definitely doesn’t scream swimming!
